The only thing better than stumbling across an insightful, inspiring, or intriguing article is having the opportunity to share it with others. I find myself encountering fantastic content on a daily basis, so I think I’ll make this link-sharing a monthly blog feature. These are some of the excellent posts that have crossed my path recently.

Links I Love June

 1. It’s Okay Not Being a Perfect Mom // The Go-To Mom (Guest post by my friend Rebecca Berg)

“Mothering is not a single event or a snapshot in time but a journey. There is a dance that we do with our children, sometimes quickly, sometimes from a distance, and sometimes in an intimate embrace. We will all make mistakes, but it is how to handle those mistakes with grace and dignity both for ourselves and our children that makes all the difference.”

2. This Moment is Enough // Zen Habits

“What if we accepted that this moment will slip away when it’s done, and saw the fleeting time we had with the moment as enough, without needing to share it or capture it?”

3. Childhood: Let It Be Simple // Austin Moms Blog

“I want their childhood to be spent enjoying life, boldly, without a nervous, anxious, worrisome mama on the sidelines, holding them back. Climb as high as you want in the trees. Eat the damn popsicle with the artificial color and flavoring, the very thought of which has stressed me out for the last six years. Just live large, and I will quit reading articles online that tell me why everything I do is hazardous.”

4. The Oregon Trail Generation: Life Before and After Mainstream Tech // Social Media Week

“If you can distinctly recall the excitement of walking into your weekly computer lab session and seeing a room full of Apple 2Es displaying the start screen of Oregon Trail, you’re a member of this nameless generation, my friend. We were the first group of kids who grew up with household computers, but still novel enough to elicit confusion and wonder.”

5. Summer Reading Guide // Modern Mrs. Darcy (I look forward to this list every year!)

“I’ve read every book in it, front to back, and can tell you why each title may or may not be the right book for YOU. Amazon has millions of books, your local bookstore has thousands, but this guide has just 30 handpicked titles—-that’s 5 books each over 6 categories–so you can bypass the duds and go straight to the good stuff.”
